Pearls are rare and you’ll have to put in an effort to find them. Fortunately, Belgium keeps providing new pearls, with the latest one being Porcelain Id.
Porcelain Id is the alias used by Hubert Tuyishime (they/them), born in Rwanda and raised in Belgium. They have been releasing remarkable soulful pop and lo-fi since 2020. They have been one of the foremost Belgian talents in recent years and won the renowned Sound Track competition. They also worked on their live reputation and were hailed by newspaper De Morgen as a “folk singer for the modern age”.
Porcelain Id is regarded as one of the rising stars with powerful lyrics, an impressive voice and a unique presentation that’s raw, fragile, authentic and pure. Their debut album “Bibi:l” – inspired by their move from a countryside village to Antwerpen – came out in January 2024 through Unday Records.
