The music of Danish collective Svaneborg Kardyb is melodious, minimalist and subtle. They are also skilled at creating vibes, at creating a dreamy world of sound in which to get lost. Their songs are a blend of jazz, electronics and even some kraut rock elements.
The Danish duo consists of Nikolaj Svaneborg (Wurlitzer, Juno, piano) and Jonas Kardyb (drums, percussion). Together, they enter into a dialogue between keys and percussion. While their previous album “Haven” (2020) created an image of a world in early Summer, their 2022 album “Over Tage” (“across roofs”) is more about a late Summer, early Autumn vibe. The album came out on refined label Gondwana Records. The music is soft and authentic, bringing warmth in times of cold and darkness. In 2019 the band won two Grammy’s at the Danish Music Awards.
Highly recommended to fans of Nils Frahm, Matthew Hallsall, Bremer & McCoy and Mammal Hands.
