They came from the trees. Snapped Ankles return to the forest, but it’s not as they left it. Trees planted in neat rows. A well-ordered monoculture with access roads and heavy machinery. The smell of greenwashed money in the air. Shrouded in shamanistic ghillie suits the band is known for their performances that combine both post punk and performance art. You might have seen them all the way back in 2019 at Merleyn! To say we’re excited for Snapped Ankles to return to Nijmegen and turn the Zeitgeist crowd into a untamed, chaotic, dancing mass is an understatement.

With their unique mix of noise rock, post-punk and a hint of 80s and 90s post-hardcore DITZ puts on intense live shows. In the past few years they’ve toured all over the EU, played festivals less than 24 hours after the drummer dislocated his shoulder, jumped into lakes mid-set and had the French police shut down their Paris instore due to noise complaints. Just recently they’ve done the support for IDLES’ their tour in the EU. We’re very excited to see DITZ blow a hole in the side of Doornroosje building!

Vulnerable and energetic. SPRINTS have been on a journey for the past 3 years transforming pain into truth, passion into purpose and perseverance into strength. Their debut album ‘Letter To Self’ which came out earlier this year is the sound of the Dublin four-piece consolidating and levelling up. Abrasive garage-punk, synthesising influences ranging from early Pixies, Bauhaus, Siouxsie Sioux, IDLES and LCD Soundsystem.

Four inquisitive individuals that came together by way of fate’s ties to the universe, UNIVERSITY are an English rock band diving into all of life’s existentialism. We’ve had the chance to see this band perform earlier this year at ESNS and their set blew us away. As they put it in their own words: “like getting punched in the face by a gorilla but then being cuddled afterwards”. UNIVERSITY sit in their own patchwork world, combining textures both vintage and futuristic.

Venom-spewing vocals, grinding guitars and a rhythm section that will blast your ear drums to pieces. Enola Gay is that band that will drench you in sweat from head to toe and leave you wanting more. Taking inspiration from electronica and techno but also from the post-punk heroes of the seventies, it is no surprise that Iggy Pop, Jenny Beth and everyone else who has seen them live is completely ecstatic about them. And that includes us of course!

What do Nijmegen and Groningen have in common? A stellar music scene of course. We’re flying in one the hottest and sickest new acquisitions of the Dutch post/garage punk genre: Real Farmer. With their debut album “Compare What’s There” just having been released and being paired with raving reviews we’re quite excited to see how they’ll turn Zeitgeist into a vortex of sweat and beer.
