In the late eighties, early nineties, Galaxie 500 released three albums that were of major importance to the development of indie/pop rock. The founder of the band, singer-guitarist Dean Wareham, is on tour to once again play the music of his influential band.
Bands like Low and Mazzy Star, but also many of the current day dream pop bands like Beach House and Deerhunter have clearly been influenced by Galaxie 500. Dean Wareham made albums later on with the band Luna and as Dean & Britta, but has been touring with the works of Galaxie 500 in recent years. A great change to hear stone-cold classics from the album “On Fire”, like ‘Strange’, live!
