Three energetic acts tonight that know when to speed things up: DITZ from England, Hammok from Norway and local heroes Paracetamøl offer s combination of post-punk and garage rock and noise, with some slices of post-hardcore thrown in for good measure!
It’s hard to get noticed nowadays in the British guitar scene, but DITZ managed to do so. Their mixture of noise rock and post-punk immediately found a fan in scene godfather Joe Talbot and was quickly followed in the UK by magazines like Loud & Quiet and The Line of Best Fit. The album “The Great Regression” from 2022 is extremely volatile, dealing with subjects like insecurity, gender, queerness, and being different in today’s society.
Hammok is a brand-new band from Norway that managed to find an audience through their EP “JUMPING/DANCING/FIGHTING”. The songs are short yet loud and explosive. Their edgy mix of post-hardcore and noise is in your face and takes no prisoners. Highly recommended.
Paracetamøl released their album “itch itch itch.” in 2022, an album full of short, raw garage punk bombs. On stage the quartet offer an intense experience: dark, loud and venomous, close to bands like Osees and Metz. Their extensive experience as musicians results in a diverse set without ever losing sight of garage punk.
