The Slow Readers Club
The Slow Readers Club is a four-piece band from Manchester. The band offers a slice of pure Brit pop with new wave influences.
Edgy rhythms, suspenseful synths and loud guitar riffs combined with the pitch black baritone voice of Aaron Sarke, all add up to a unique sound, which is both dark and atmospheric at the same time. Their fifth album with the title “91 Days in Isolation” is no exception to this. It was written during the lockdown period in the UK and has the typical dark Manchester sound to match the mood of those times. Just after the pandemic they released the album “Knowledge Freedom Power” (2023) with gorgeous songs like ‘Records Out’ and the title track.
New work is on the way. Highly recommended to fans of Editors, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Echo & The Bunnymen and IST IST.
